The Edgewater Recognized with Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 Reader’s Choice Award

Condé Nast Traveler today announced the results of its 31st annual Readers’ Choice Awards with The Edgewater recognized as the  #1 Hotel in Madison and #2 Hotel in the State of Wisconsin. The AAA Four-Diamond property received the only rating in the city of Madison and was one of seven hotels throughout the state of Wisconsin to be named in the Top 25 Midwest Hotels category.

“We are incredibly honored to be recognized by our guests in the 2018 Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards,” said Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, Amy Supple. “Since reopening in 2014, we have worked diligently to make The Edgewater Madison’s Place for area residents and visitors alike. Being able to achieve recognition in this prestigious publication for two consecutive years is very gratifying and a tribute to the vision of our ownership and the dedication of our entire Edgewater team.”

Nearly half a million Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted tens of thousands of comments, voting on a record-breaking number of hotels and resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, airlines, and airports.

Originally opened in 1948 along the shores of Lake Mendota, The 202-room Edgewater has been a prominent gathering place in the heart of Madison, Wisconsin.  In 2012, the hotel underwent a major, two-year renovation and reopened in 2014 with a new, state-of-the-art building housing 100 guest rooms; an expansive spa and wellness center; a pier with 40 complimentary boat slips; two lakeside restaurants, a bar and coffee shop and a Grand Plaza featuring free, year-round community events including a winter ice rink, fall food festivals and summer concerts.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers’ Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travelers.

The 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards are published exclusively on Condé Nast Traveler’s website at www.cntraveler.com/rca and celebrated in the November issue on newsstands nationwide on October 16.
