Drone Use At The Edgewater

Due to safety and privacy concerns, The Edgewater prohibits the operation or use on or above resort property of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by the public—including recreational users and hobbyists—without the prior written authorization from The Edgewater.

This includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone used by media or journalists operating above or within The Edgewater boundaries. In addition, this prohibition extends to any devices launched or operated from resort property, devices within 500 yards extending over Lake Mendota, as well as base areas like the round auto-court, Grand Plaza, Ice Rink, restaurant and room terraces, and The Pier, all located within The Edgewater.

Authorized operation of drones on or above resort property will be governed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately established by this resort, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or releases of liability.
