The Overture Center and The Edgewater Team Up to Offer National Geographic Live Packages in 2018

National Geographic Live, a traveling program featuring world- renowned adventurers and photographers, has been thrilling audiences in select cites around the country for years.  Madison’s Overture Center has hosted this popular series for the past five years and in 2018 they will team up with The Edgewater to offer a series of National Geographic Live packages.

The one-night package will feature one-night accommodations in a King room, pre-theatre dinner for two, two “best available” tickets, overnight parking and breakfast for two.  The Overture Center is a short four blocks from The Edgewater, and transportation can be available from the urban resorts complimentary shuttle as available.

The packages will be available for the following 2018 shows:

January 23, 2018 – POINTS OF NO RETURN with Hilaree O’Neil
Mountaineer Hilaree O’Neill shares the gripping story of leading a team of some of the world’s elite climbers on a grueling attempt to climb a remote peak in Myanmar—and the physical and emotional toll they endured.

February 27, 2018 – ON THE TRAIL OF THE BIG CATS with Steve Winter
Join award-winning National Geographic photographer Steve Winter for a thrilling journey into the world of big cats. From trekking high in India’s Himalaya in search of rare snow leopards and stalking the elusive jaguar through Latin American jungles to chronicling the nocturnal activities of the “American lion” or cougar, this determined explorer ventures far and wide to come face-to-face with his subjects.

April 10, 2018 – A RARE LOOK AT NORTH KOREA TO CUBA with David Guttenfelder
In 2011, David Guttenfelder made history when he helped the Associated Press open a bureau in North Korea—the first-ever Western news agency in the politically isolated country. For the first time in North Korean history, images of daily life there were sent to the world, while Guttenfelder himself acted as an unofficial ambassador. In 2016, he broke through another wall when he boarded the first cruise ship in decades to travel from the United States to Cuba, and returned to the island to cover Fidel Castro’s four-day funeral procession.

Packages start at $489 and must be booked 30 days prior to the show.  All packages include:  one-night accommodation, dinner for two, breakfast for two, overnight parking and two “best available” tickets.  Alcohol and gratuity is not included in package price.
