2017 Summer Music Series at The Edgewater
Second Annual “Summer of Music” Brings Bluegrass, Throwback Tributes and Wisconsin Favorites Live from the Heart of Downtown Madison
We’re thrilled to announce our second annual “Summer of Music” at The Edgewater, Madison’s Place. A First Thursdays line up, Brewgrass Fridays, and Live & LocALE Saturdays round out what is sure to be a season full of sips and sounds on The Grand Plaza, a venue that has quickly become a community gathering spot. All free and open to the public, The Edgewater will host over 30 bands and artists. Whether you’re a family looking for a place to celebrate or a couple looking to enjoy the sunset, dinner on the lake and live music, we’ve got a little something for everyone.
We’re kicking things off on Memorial Day weekend with THE party of the summer featuring a free show from Madison County starting at 6pm on The Grand Plaza. We’ll also offer complimentary boat rides off The Edgewater Pier from 5-7 pm.
The following Thursday, June 1, our First Thursdays series will kick off music every month highlighting an eclectic mix of cover bands and throwback tributes. Expect to see acts like soul and folk band, Dustbowl Revival and more.
Friday, June 2, we’ll welcome back Brewgrass Fridays in partnership with Door County Brewing Company. Every Friday of the summer we’ll host some of the best bluegrass and roots bands from around the nation, including Charlie Parr and The Dead Horses. Of course, Door County craft beers like Little Sister and Pallet Jack Cruiser IPA will be on hand, and we’ll be offering show goers the opportunity to sample exclusive brew debuts from Door County Brewing Company throughout the summer.
Given Wisconsin’s expertise in—and appreciation for—local brews and bands, we’ve partnered with Wisconsin Distributors for Live & LocALE Saturdays. Beginning on June 3, make The Edgewater your Saturday night LocALE— this series features ALL Wisconsin bands and brews every Saturday night of the summer. Visitors and locals can relax on The Grand Plaza while enjoying beloved acts like Pat McCurdy and Natty Nation while enjoying some of the most popular local brews, including One Barrel, Potosi and more.
