Augie’s Tavern

Augie’s Tavern

Augie Faulkner, the first general manager and an owner of The Edgewater Hotel for nearly 50 years, had a flair for entertaining everyone from Elvis Presley to the Dalai Lama. He and his family helped to define Madison culture in a way that was approachable and charming, while also providing the most notable hospitality and service that the area had ever experienced. His style, showmanship and authentic desire to deliver the highest quality experience to every single guest, every single day are what made him legendary. We not only celebrate that legacy here by name, but also exemplify it through our quality of service, classic food preparation and creative menu offerings.

The Boathouse

The Boathouse

The Boathouse is a casual waterfront dining spot along the shores of Lake Mendota that serves up hot fare and cold craft beers. The long-standing tradition of waterfront dining in Wisconsin is not lost here, in fact, it is very much at the forefront of this restaurant. Our chef takes casual classics like brats, burgers and cheese curds and puts his Modern Midwestern spin on them to make lakeside life even better, all while being right in the heart of downtown Madison.

The Icehouse

Through the brick arches at the base of The Plaza’s grand staircase is The Icehouse, a lively food hall serving grab-and-go options like pizza, snacks and a wide selection of Wisconsin-brewed beers for those enjoying all The Plaza has to offer, including ice skating in winter. The Edgewater’s Plaza is one of the region’s most magnificent public spaces, with its sweeping views of Lake Mendota and the State Capitol, plus countless opportunities for outdoor activities and lakeside relaxation.
