The Boathouse Opens February 2 for Winter on the Water

The Edgewater favorite reopens with Wednesday Night Luaus, Friday Night Fish Fry, Happy Hour and Daily Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Offerings

The Boathouse makes an early-season debut when it opens for the Frozen Assets Festival on February 2, and then plays host to programming for Winter on the Water through March 4, 2018.

Kicking off the opener is the Fourth Annual Frozen Assets Festival, February 2-4, organized by Clean Lakes Alliance and hosted by The Edgewater, offering a winter wonderland of activities using beautiful Lake Mendota as its front yard. The family-friendly weekend is free and open to the public and will feature a popular nighttime 4.25 or 12.75 mile Fat Tire Bike Race on the frozen lake on Friday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m., and the first-ever Frozen Assets 5K, a run/walk also held on the ice on Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. The Boathouse will be open during all events serving as a perfect spot for a bowl of homemade chili and watching all the weekend’s activities.

Following Frozen Assets, The Boathouse will remain open daily from February 5-March 4 with special Winter on the Water programming. A “4-5-6 Happy Hour” starts each week on Sunday and runs through Thursdays from 4-6pm. Drink specials include $4 OFF Draught Beer, $5 select wines and a $6 featured cocktail.

Wednesdays offer a Lakeside Winter Luau with Karben4 Brewing with the first event on February 7, featuring an exclusive Coco-Nut Brown Ale firkin with a 5pm tapping; sounds from Toco Beach Steelpan Duo start at 5:30pm. Wednesday specials include $5 firkin pints, a newly released Raspberry Fantasy Factory and $6 Caribbean Iced Coffees. The first 20 guests to purchase a Karben4 beer receive a pair of K4 sunglasses—and—with every K4 beer purchased, guests will be entered to win other raffle prizes throughout the evening.

Resort guests and locals can finish the week on Friday afternoons with ESPN Wisconsin as they broadcast live from The Boathouse, or gather friends and head down for a classic Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fry, served every Friday from 5PM-close. Beer-battered cod, coleslaw, fries or boiled red potatoes, a rye bread basket and house-made tartar round out the menu—along with classic Old Fashioneds.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be served daily in The Boathouse as the resort’s signature restaurant, The Statehouse, is closed for some exciting updates. The Statehouse will reopen in early March with a new spring/summer menu showcasing the best of Modern Midwestern cuisine from Executive Chef Juan Martinez.
